Alexandra Light is a choreographer with a particular interest in social practice. In addition to her career, Alexandra holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Maryland global campus, magna cum laude. Her choreographic work addresses themes of gender issues, diasporic ancestry and environmental concerns, weaving these topics into abstract narratives that resonate with both local and global communities.

Her works have been performed in a wide range of venues, including the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Bass Performance Hall, Winspear Opera House, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Steps on Broadway and the Katzen Arts Center at American University, among others.

Alexandra was the inaugural recipient of the Frank Lloyd Wright Martin House Creative Residency, selected for the inaugural Jacob's Pillow ChoreoTech Lab as well as residencies with Centre Pompadour (FR) and BONFIRE.
